Album song order alphabetized from correct order after editing tracks w/Artist &Album

I am converting FLAC files to MP3 Lame off the hard-drive of an Escient E2300 Home Stereo System Hard Drive. The files convert just fine and appear with a number, hyphen, and song name in the original album order. When I select all of the files and right click to: extra commands, edit tracks and install the proper artist, album title, and genre, I loose the correct/original order of the songs, as they become alphabetized within the album. Please advise what I am doing wrong?

Do you mean the file names are changed?

The music files are shown on the left main screen, all highlighted, after they are converted from FLAC to MP3LAME onto my IPOD. They are formated as such: 02 - Track Name - Genre When I right click on the files and properly name the group with Artist, Album Title, and Genre, they are properly grouped, but the order of the Track Names is changed to an alphabetical sort and the first field item, which was a number, is no longer there. I am sure the number was the method used to correctly order the tracks, and it no longer exists in the group.

After ripping from FLAC to MP3Lame, the file names are displayed and highlighted in the following example format: 02 - Track Name - Genre to: Album Name - Track Name - Genre It appears as if the "number" field is changed to the "Album Name", which was the original method to sort the "Track" order. After changing the numeric sort to all the same album name, the sort goes to alphabetic and the track order is changed.

For Sveta it is best if the beta version and latest ipod driver (both beta section of this forum) are used.
