I cannot see tag info in my Explorer

after installing release 11 and wma codec, I found that I cannot see audio file tag information in my explorer. I mean, the "Album" and "Title" beneath Filename which is GRAY. Moreover, I cannot see these info in the yellow popup window and rightclick-porperty.
But WMP can still show info when the files are played.
In sum, explorer cannot show mp3 info anymore but wmp still can

What's the matter? I swear I can see these info before, and the description of EXE is still there, only that of WMA MP3 is missing

I tried reinstall, it didnt work

    pls help me

You cannot see that on the newly converted files under the new release, or not even for older converted files that had been done with an earlier release?

If it's the former, you must have the wrong type of ID Tags selected in dMC Configuration. For mp3 it should be id3v2 & id3v1.

Re: I cannot see tag info in my Explorer

      I have tried id3v2 & id3v1.

My problem is that all the audio file's information cannot be seen in my explorer, but they are there, only wmp can recognize them. And, I am sure that I see the info before install release 11 and wma codec

Re: I cannot see tag info in my Explorer

The "GRAY" info of EXE comes from pe header ,all right?
I am afraid my explorer cannot recog ID3 anymore

Tag&Remover also shows the tag info

Maybe it is Windows Media Format Runtime that caused the problem, but I cannot uninstall the 9.5version in WMA CODEC, So i am not sure....

            Quit double/triple posting!

I don't think the Windows Media Format Runtime would be causing the problem. I have it and it has NEVER interfered with my tag info pop-ups in Explorer and in Total Commander.

Re: I cannot see tag info in my Explorer

I'd double-check the types of tags dMC put on those files. If they are ID3v1 and/or ID3v2, Explorer should be able to read them, but I don't know if Explorer can read both. When you right-click on the file and go to properties, then click "Summary". Does it show anything there? What about when you then click the "Advanced" button?

Re: I cannot see tag info in my Explorer

Well, first of all there must be information stored in those tags. If the files were converted from wav files, there may not be anything, since wav files don't have tag information in the first place.

Thanks, My Files are mp3 download from internet and they do contains tag info
I have tried "Summary" and "Advance".
There should be many tag info in "Summary",right? And There used to be.
However, there are only 2 entry in it and they are both empty

If you don't see them in the file attributes they are not there or WIndows Exploerer is nto set up to show them. I don't think this has anything to do with dMC, maybe some setting in Explorer. Or, as I said, maybe the tags are the wrong kind. Try to edit some tags yourself and see what is displayed after that.

If you don't have PowerPack for some reason or another, try using Winamp's file editor. It's just as easy as PowerPack is for editing tags.

                        Hi

Hope you benefit from this late reply.
This happened to me, but I knew what the problem was.

I had disabled video preview in explorer (thats when you see thumbnails of the first frame of a video) and it blocked Mp3 Handling.

To fix your problem, enter this into the Start >> Run box.

                        regsvr32 shmedia.dll

To change it back (to the errorful setting, but without AVI preview), enter this:
                        regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll

                        Byebye.
