Priority Alert !! Virus detected in dBpowerAmp Product

My virus detection software has detected the presence of Trojan.Autoit.E in the file QTBatch.exe. This file appears in the directory C:\Program\dBpowerAmp\Compression\QuickTime M4a(CLI).

FYI I am using AntiVirusKit 2005 running on Windows 2000 Professional. The virus definition file of my anti virus software has only recognised this virus since the version from 24.April.05.

I have been using dBpowerAmp for some time. Until now I have always been very satisfied. I do not wish to damage dBpowerAmp's brand equity, yet I feel this issue needs to be publicised and addressed.

Most likely it is just your antivirus regarding the file's activities as similar to said Trojan. Since I have neither QuickTime, this codec, nor your AntiVirus, I can't determine the exact cause of this problem.

I just downloaded it and my antivirus (AVG) finds nothing wrong with it.

This file enimated outside of dbpoweramp, it could be a false positive (my F Secure didn't finds any viruses in it), I think if all virus checkers but one do not find the virus then there is no virus.

I was gonna say that too. I highly doubt Spoon would be foolish enough to deliberately place a virus in dMC. Very unlikely.

Just a thought. Quite likley this person already has a virus on his/her pc and it's showing up in different ways. It can be infecting downloads for instance, possibly with a variant which ends up getting detected, while the original slips unnoticed.

Hm...I remember having a virus just as your description is written, ChrstinaS. I had to re-download SmartFTP again because some stupid virus got into one of my downloads....
