    sony 10 disc changer cdx757mx

    hi i have this changer in my car but anytime i burn an mp3 disc it skips in many places is there a fix for this ive tried many different ways-software, different media i cant get any to play without skipping or squelching any help would be appreciated-------yulog

    I assume your original files don't skip. Does the CD skip when you play it on your computer?

      yes the cd plays on my computer and on my mp3 boombox(which is a sony --go figure) files are good on the hard drive as well---some songs play fine others dont---yulog

        Then your cd changer in the car is faulty or overly sensitive.

        Can you play audio cd's there ok? burnt ones?

          yes it plays cdrs fine no problems no the changer is not faulty its been this way since new there was a certain way to get it to work i believe SPOON had the answer almost a year ago it had something to do with the conversion software is he still around he may be the only one who knows how to fix this problem------yulog

            Then ananlyze what settings you're using to create your mp3 files and see if they agree with what the cd changer accepts.

              The settings - make sure they're 16 bit, 44.1 khz between 64 to 320 kbps. That's the "standard" for mp3s, right, Christina?

                You could try the mp3 blade codec (from codec central) incase it does not like how a modern lame encodes.
