    Installation woes

Getting a fully loaded version, and installing as Admin, per Windoze procedure, I find that on WinXPro:
1> Program listings are in Admin, but not in User, account Start Menu
2> As Admin, pgm does not recognize the CD drive on Toshiba A40 laptop; "Refresh" does nothing. Rt-clicking on "Refresh" sometimes gives complaint about not being able to rip from hard drive.
3> "Active links" in config do nothing.

    How's that for starters?<G>

You got to run these programs as Admin. There are some tricks that you can do, but at least dMC Audio CD Input has to be run when you're logged in as Admin.

In dMC Audio CD Input > Options make sure the correct drive is selected and the correct communication (Advanced). Try different values from the drop down box. In most cases what works is 2000/NT Device IO or 2000/NT Built In (Limited).

In case the cd is copyrighted try the little arrow next to Options > Standard CD Player Emulation > toggle Table of Contents detection on or off.

Also as you insert the cd try holding down the shift key to bypass the detection of copyright protection.

      > You got to run these programs as Admin.
This is in violation of Windoze "security" protocols, since if the box is hacked while Admin, the hacker gets total control, but if run as User, he gets limited control.
Is this a "feature", or a "bug"; I have great difficulty differentiating between the two<G>.

      > In dMC Audio CD Input > Options make sure the correct drive is selected ...
As stated, the CD drive was not recognized, but ...

... this made the drive visible, and it seems to work, for now.
Is there any reason this is not included in the docs??
      Thanks.

I'm not sure why they're not in the docs, but for help, just post here!
