    Clarification Requested

About the licensing and MP3 encoding issue, as if that hasn't already been discussed ...

Before I shell out $$$ for the Power Pack, I'd like to know exactly what I'm getting. From what I can see, the Power Pack only provides a time-limited license for MP3 encoding. Is this the case? If so, then what would I be getting for my money that I don't get in the free version? After the time limitation I'd be essentially left without MP3 support (since decoding without encoding makes for a severely hobbled product). I just want to be sure what I'll be getting.

The license for mp3 encoding ane PowerPack features has no time limit, as far as I can tell. Of course, nobody can predict the future!

There are other PowerPack features, such as "Rip to RAM" and "Rip & Encode at the same time" for ripping CDs. Also, you can apply DSP effects to songs, such as Trim, removing vocals, removing silence, etc. A slightly outdated list of PowerPack features is here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=2701

The question remains: Will it encode MP3 beyond a time limit? The product will be of no use to me unless it does. It can have thousands of features but I won't be able to use it unless it encodes MP3. I remain unclear on this point.

Yes it does. When you buy the PowerPack, it comes with the mp3 encoder rights or whatever.

When you purchase the PowerPack, you are also purchasing a MP3 encoder lisence. This entitles you to encode to mp3 as long as you wish. There is no time limit after purchasing the PowerPack.
If you do not purchase the PowerPack, once its 30 day trial runs out, you are no longer able to encode to mp3.
