    MP4 Conversion not working

Hello I actually posted this in the wrong forum so moving it here.

when I try to convert to MP4 format I get the following error message:

    "C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Compression\Mp4 (CLI)\encode.bat" C:\~dmcin.wav C:\~dmcout.mp4 -br 48

    Unable to run encoder 'C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Compression\Mp4 (CLI)\encode.bat'

    Any suggestions? I tried re-installing.

    Thanks!

Which mp4 encoder did you download? Try the encoder here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=7417

      Re: MP4 Conversion not working

      Initially I installed dbpoweramp-codec-mp4.exe

I tried installing the link you gave me and got the following error message:

The CODEC required to compress 'C:\Converted Music\Atomic Dog.m4a' could not be opened.
Unable to run encoder 'C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Compression\m4a (FAAC CLI)\faac.exe'

So not sure why I'm having problems with the encoder.

        Re: MP4 Conversion not working

Where do you have dbPowerAmp installed to? Do you see a "locate encoder" button on the Compression settings or advanced settings? It sounds like you need to point dMC to the correct location.

          Re: MP4 Conversion not working

Well, when I click on locate encoder automatically pops up with

          C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Compression\m4a (FAAC CLI)\faac.exe

          Is that wrong?

Is that where you have the encoder installed to? If it is, then it is correct. If you have dMC installed somewhere else, change it to reflect where dMC is installed to.

What is the settings of your input file? Try converting to a 16-bit, 2-channel (stereo) 44100Hz WAV and then converting to a mp4 file.

                      Hi,

I did that and it still fails. Says it can't run the decoder. It goes to about 9% and I get the error message.

If you can't, the file's probably corrupted. Try downloading the codecs again.

If no media player plays the file, the file is probably corrupted. Did you try to remove protection on a downloaded iTunes Music Store song?
