    Use Power Pack without converting?

I want to normalize some MP3's without performing any conversion. Possible?

Yes, you just "convert" from mp3 to mp3 (with same settings) with normaliser DSP feature activated first. I know it's odd, but that seems to be the way it works!
PS. I'm assuming that works with mp3 files just as it does with wave files.

You will lose quality that way??. Say going 128kbps to 128kbps? (Lossy to Lossy)

If you have the CD you may want to Re-Rip and Normalize then.

Yes, there will be some quality loss, as internally it first has to convert to a full 44.1KHz, 16-bit, 2-channel stereo wav, normalize it, and reconvert to whatever your codec and settings call for. Normalization is a funny touchy thing, I'd indeed re-rip to wav and apply normalization and then convert to whatever lossy format.

Yes that is true, but it's the only way to do it if you do not have the CDs. Even if you have the CDs but have hundreds of mp3files, it can be a long process. I would expect the loss in audio quality when going from/to the same format, bitrate, and frequency would be quite small. In any case, that is the only way one can use apply the DSP effects of DMC, unless I am mistaken.

If you have the space, that's a good choice for storing on your PC. But 350!!!
.....let us know when you've finished!
