    The CODEC required... (help!)

"The CODEC required to decompress 'C:\Documents and Settings\Jonathan S. Krepz\Desktop\Trey\trey2005-04-01d1t03.flac' could not be opened"

I recently downloaded my first 'FLAC' and I am trying to get it to mp3. Heck, I can't even get it to play in anything.

I have dbpowerAMP, tried both an old version and a new, downloaded and installed and uninstalled and installed etc the FLAC codec....

and I keep getting it. I have gotten it on two different computers too.

    FLAC > MP3 :(

I have also tried the test, and it does the same... and I have played with the settings for the MP2 as well as tried it going to wav etc.

Speaking of which, I have this problem (only sometimes though). If anyone can help us, please reply.

If you cannot play the file in anything, the file is corrupted. Sorry.

LtData, sometimes when I try to encode from CD to flac, I get the same error message as above and so far, (~ 6-7 months), I still haven't been able to figure out what's wrong.

Best trying other programs (even flac.exe command line to manually decode it), the file could be corrupt.

Spoon I said I'm converting from CD. They can't be corrupt. And I've tried multiple CDs.

Then try installing the new beta FLAC codec.
