.dAP plays .ape files.
Monkeys is a lossless codec. This means that when you convert an ucompressed .wav file to .ape there is no loss of audio quality. The .ape file will be about 1/2 of the original uncompressed .wav file size.
You were converting .mp3 - which is not a lossless codec- to a lossless codec. So your file ends up taking 1/2 of the size of the original .wav .
It is useless to convert from lossy to lossless as it will not improve audio quality. -

stick to your mp3s. DO NOT CONVERT to a lossless format unless you like to waste time like me. MP3s are lossy, and like imom said, lossy should never be converted to lossless.Comment
