    music with mail

    What music format is necessary to send in mail ?
    Other than midi's I mean..
    Have some neat MP3's that I would like to use as background sound with mail, but they won't go....in that format.. sure would appreciate any advice..

    Try compressing them with an ACM MP3 codec. This can be done by right clicking on the files and hitting convert to, then Wave. Once on its config page, hit change format and select MPEG 1 Layer 3 then set its options. This will produce a file with the extension of .wav that also has a Wave header. You should be able to embed it into the mail message now. The only problem with this way is that the recipients have to the have the MPEG 1 Layer 3 ACM codec installed, which BTW, is not included in earlier versions of Windows.
