    codec problems

I get this no matter what I do:

The CODEC required to decompress 'C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\DYLAN - A TREE WITH ROOTS\disc one\Track09-Unknown Artist.flac' could not be opened.

I see this is common but can't find a solution.

    Thanks for any help.

Have you installed the FLAC codec for dMC from codec central?
Can you play this FLAC file in a media player? It could be corrupt.

No, none of the FLAC files play in a player. I'll double check on the Codec (s) I've loaded. Thanks.

If NONE of the files play in more than one player, then the files themselves are probably corrupt. If they are, then your out of luck and will have to find new copies of these files.

It happens no matter what kind of file I'm using. I'm giving up for the weekend.

Idea: Try converting a file in another format, such as wav or mp3, etc., to FLAC. If the resulting file is corrupt, then the codec might be installed wrong. Try uninstalling the codec and reinstalling. If this still does not fix it, you might have to uninstall all of dMC and reinstall as instructed here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=6828
