    distortion

    Dear Forum,

today I tried to convert m4a files into mp3 (I also tried .ogg and wave). All the created files were distorted (at least at the loud parts). I tried to compensate with the quiten-effect, but that only changed the maximum level of the file, not the cuts in the waveform. My question is: what do I do wrong? The files were iTune-Downloads (m4p) and I had them put through hymn... I wanted to make a mix in KRISTAL which is a free SoundMix-program.

    Any suggestions, please?

    Thank you,

Do your m4a files sound distorted? Are the originals also distorted?
If your originals are fine but the m4a files are distorted, then Hymn did not successfully remove the DRM.

and if the DRM wasn't removed correctly, I guess the only thing to do is to wait til the creators of Hymn update their program. Check their website regularly for updates.
