variable mp3 rip stuck at 320

Folks
I was asked to rip an album to variable mp3 with 256-320 settings
That worked
Unfortunately - since then - there is no way I can lower the upper bounds on the music converter
The upper slider is stuck at 320 and can't be moved
Have tried the mouse plus a variety of other keys - nothing seems to be effective in lowering the upper rip rate
have tried uninstall and reinstall also - no joy
All suggestions gratefully welcomed

When using the mp3 codec (Lame), click on Advanced Options and remove the presets. Then you can go back to setting the bitrate.

You have to right-click to lower the upper bounds of the slider.
