    Exxtreamly sloooow C...D readiiiing speeeed

Heh, that title was a joke But anyway, I just got the GDR8163B by LG. Windows calls it the HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8163B.

With my Plextor drive I got good speeds, but with this drive I get hella slow speed. The drive is fine, I've tested it out enough. So is there somthing that needs to be fixed in dBpowerAMP?

    and XP SP2

Wow i'm stumped for this problem. You have SP2 installed, a really fast processor, and WAY MORE memory than i do. (I have 768 megs).

Have you tried ripping an audio CD using another ripping program such as Nero, Winamp, or some other program?

I'm backing up a DVD, but I'll let you know in a second Spoon.

Even this is kinda slow... So I think it is MAX 52x... But mean around 4x...

Or I don't know. People say it is a good reader

Yeah, it's the fact I was ripping to a FLAC file Spoon. Test it reads @ 25x...

er, but why would that make a thread lock? ^_^

maybe it's another situation of sarcasm. I'm really bad at it.

Flac can be quite slow at the higher compression rates, the lower rates are fast and give files almost the same size.
