dmc Audio Input - Annoying bug

Just a little annoying bug which caused me to rip my hair out a couple of times. :vmad:

    1. Select the last track and edit the title on the selected item
    2. Click straight into the artist name box at the top of the screen
    3. The selected item becomes semi-unselected. i.e. it just has an unfilled dotted focus rectangle around it.
    4. Type a new artsist name and hit enter.
    5. It appears, that because the last item has become unselected, every track takes on the artists name you have just entered.

I obviously manage to get round it by making sure it is definitely, definitely selected before entering in the artists name, or by working backwards.

It only seems to happen with the last track, but this is the frustrating part as it overwrites everything you have just done.

    Hope this helps.

Re: dmc Audio Input - Annoying bug

It is getting more and more distressing now!!!

I am currently ripping my total CD collection (I am a DJ just moving over onto MP3) of around 800 CDs.

For nearly every CD that I am having to edit manually - i.e those that are not in FreeDB, which is quite a few, I am invariably having to re-edit the artist for every one.

OK, there is a work around, but it is flippin' frustrating.

      Any response would be appreciated.

      Thanks

      Simon

Simon, FreeDB is not the only database out there. Although it's the only one I use, I know for sure if you use Windows Media Player, you can use CDDB to get information. I dunno if CDDB is more or less updated than FreeDB, though.

            Many thanks for your feedback.

As I said in one of my previous posts, DB Power Amp far outshines any of the other rippers out there at the moment.

Albeit this is annoying, it by no means inspires me to even consider using a different app.

            Thanks

no!!! Don't leave dBpowerAMP! It's an awesome program, and the minute Spoon sees a bug, he goes to fix it IMMEDIATELY!!! (I think). Plus, people like me, who don't even work with Spoon on anything, spend most of our time during the day helping people like you who have questions regarding the program!

I tend to work in specific areas (it is more time efficient), when back on dMC it will be fixed.
