dMC File selector bug -- not deleting source -- AAC to MP4

Hi, so i used CD-DA Extractor before to rip all my CDs to .AAC format, thinking that when i buy an Ipod i can load all my music on it. now i find out that i have been ripping to wrong format, and that it should have been .m4a.
So i download DBpoweramp and the AAC/MP4 codec to convert my AAc to MP4 and then to rename to M4A. I open up File Selector, and to test it out i select just on folder wih four aac files.

    the settings are this:
    +AAC --> MP4
    +Same folder as original
+Volume Normalizer (maybe this is unneccesary)
    +Preserve ID Tags
    +Delete Source files after conversion

i click 'convert' and the processed finished in a split second, literally. then i go the destination folder, and see my new MP4 files, but my AAC files are still there too and were't removed like they should have been.
Also, i check out the ID tags of the MP4 files, and its EMPTY! ID tags were not preserved.

so, is this a known bug? what can i do?
    thanks

I'd say under the circumstances you were actually lucky the originals weren't deleted :D That's a dangerous thing anwyay.

I wasn't aware it didn't work, maybe just for some codecs. Not suffciently familiar with those formats actually.

But take a look at Codec Central for that format. I believe there's a special codec you have to use in order to preserve those ID tags. Look at the bottom of that page.
Description AAC audio into, or from a Mp4 Container (without quality loss)

    Download AAC >> Mp4 & Mp4 >> AAC Codec 347 KB
    Notes
Install mp4 & aac decoder to ID preserve tags.
Requires Release 10 or higher of dBpowerAMP Music Converter.

hey christi, thanks for replying. i did install that "AAC >> Mp4 & Mp4 >> AAC Codec 347 KB " codec before running the program, but as you pointed out i need the "mp4 & aac decoder ", which i'm downoading right now.

UPDATE: i'm still having the same problems no matter which codec i use. although i am a bit confused about the difference in these two codecs:

      mp4 & AAC Decoder 531 KB Release 2
      -and-
      AAC >> Mp4 & Mp4 >> AAC Codec 347 KB

also, it seems i cant have both codecs installed at the same time becasue when i have one istalled and go install the other, program tells me that 'a previous version has been found' andasks if i want to unistall that one. not really sure what to do here...

What it suggests is you install the second one on top of the first one, therefore you don't uninstall first anything.

I can't actually test this myself since I don't have such files anyway.

The decoder is needed to write the ID Tags.

thanks for responding, Spoon. I guess i'm still confused, however. first, i installed the decoder, then i installed the aac/mp4 codec over it. but im still getting the same results, i.e. no deletion and no tagging.
i'm really at a loss becasue i'm usually pretty good with software configs and computers in general.
am i really the only one having this problem? (in other words: am i really that much of a moron!?)

I am guessing that ECDDA has written ID 3v2 tags to the audio file, currently the aac decoder can only read APE2 tags (there is no tagging standard for .aac, everyone just uses .m4a), but you are in luck as an updated .aac codec is being written, if you can send me one such .aac file:
