Unable to access CD Drive 'R:\Track10.cda'

I am trying to rip some cd songs. However, after selecting a song, setting all the parameters, etc. I get the following two error messages (for each selection):
The CODEC required to decompress 'R:Track10.cda' could not be opened. Unable to access CD Drive 'R:Track10.cda'
I have three DVD/CD drives on my XP Pro system, and the results are the same on all of them. One drive is connected through IDE, one SCSI and the third as USB. All drives play the CDs properly. Does the dB PowerAmp program not work with DVD/CD drives? I downloaded the cdda codec, but that did not help.
    Any suggestions?

It works with DVD drives, no problem. Perhaps it depends on the make, but I have a Lite On DVD burner drive and it works OK.

Nothing special requring download of any CDA codec I think, it should come with dMC anyway from the start.

Are you using dMC Audio CD Input?

Have you selected the cd drive in Options? The cd communication for that drive as well (Advanced, next to the cd drive selector)?

It's just possible the track is protected though. Then turn off Table of contents detection (down arrow next to Options > cd player emulator).

What format and specifications do you want to rip the track to? Do you have the encoding codec for that?

      Thanks for the reply.
I dug through some other similar problem postings, tried their solutions, and discovered that the problem was the ASPI setting. After it was changed, the problem disappeared.
      Thanks.
