How to find the bitrate of an existing file

    Hi guys,

Does dMCScripting have anything that will let me find the bitrate, frequency and channel info?

I need to convert thousands of files to make sure that they are ay least 32kbps 22khz joint or full stereo, but I want to avoid transcoding files when it isn't necessary.

I ask because it must be in there somewhere so that it can create the tooltips in explorer.

    Best regards,
    Matt.

Looking through the DMCSCRIPTINGLib.dll file with MS VS .NET 03's Object Browser, I can't find a property or method that would tell you that information. But I would think you're right... that info should be available somewhere.

Not not from scripting, you could try loading your audio into the latest beta of dAP, then Collection >> Export to a CSV file with that info.

I really need to automate the process as it will be ongoing when new files are added.

Do you know of any other api which has this functionality?
