dBpowerAMP seems to have just.. stopped!

    Hola!
I installed WMP10 and then dBpowerAMP said that the codec was not found for WMA. So go to codec central, follow (ALL) steps for WMA codec, install... now when I rip, no matter what I do I get the following:

The output file '\\CdRom\Groove Armada Presents... (The Guardian)\Groove Armada Presents... (The Guardian) - 10 - Caia - Le Telecabine 320kbps.wav' could not be opened.

For every song! I've tried reinstalling dBpowerAMP. No avail. If I *uninstall* dBpowerAMP and reinstall it will I lose any data for personally made CDs that I've typed in? Track listings etc.?

    Thanks!

Check your settings to see where you are trying to save your ripped files. It sounds as if you are trying to save the files on the same CD drive you are currently ripping.

As for track titles, these should not be lost when uninstalling dMC, but I am not sure.

      Hey LtData,
I figured that it looked like it was trying to rip it to the CD drive, and I checked the folder settings which were all ok.. :(

What kind of disk are you trying to rip from? "320Kbps wav" does not sound like a regular music CD. Also, what folder do you actually have selected for the "rip to" option?

I'm trying to rip from a standard CD. I tried doing one that I'd already done before when it worked and I get the same message. I have 'C:\Albums\' as the actual folder set up to rip to. I changed the codec to WAV and it ripped fine, and back again and the same error! Now I reinstalled the WMA codec and I get the original 'The CODEC required to compress ... .wma could not be opened.'.
          Argh!

            Right! Sorted!

I had to uninstall WMP10, and the WM Runtime. Then restart. Then resinatall WM10. All ok now!

            Don't ask...
