Cannot Open m4a file when trying to convert?

I'm trying to convert a m4a file to mp3 (lame). I right click, select "Convert To" and get the following error after clicking "Convert".

    The file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Dennis A. Granger\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Big & Rich\Horse of a Different Color\Wild West Show.m4a' could not be opened.

I had just installed dbpoweramp this morning, along with the Codec.

    Thanks

Check the m4a file is not iTunes Copy Protected.

The files (there are 72) were originally m4p files from iTunes. I used hymn to convert to m4a without a problem. I just copied/pasted the m4a file without a problem, so I would assume it isn't copy protected. Is this what you mean?

When did you use Hymn to convert the files to m4a? It seems that the latest release of iTunes changes the DRM, rendering Hymn useless.

Well, that is the problem then, since I did this Monday. Any alternatives?

Not yet. I'm sure the makers of Hymn will figure out a way to break this version of the DRM also.
