    Ripped File Destination

Can you please tell me when I rip a track from an Audio CD, where does that ripped track copy to in my computer?

For example: I ripped a track (wma file) as an mp3 file. I do not see the mp3 file in "my music" folder or anywhere else, where do I access it?

Also can I specify a file destination prior to rippng? If so how?

    Thank you!

Click your options button, the location is specified in that window. By default, I think it's "C:\Converted Music". Try looking there first. Also, there is currently a bug in specifying the rip-to location. You can always move the files after the CD has been ripped, though.

I think Spoon has fixed that bug in Version 11.1

Yes, but 11.1 is still in beta.

You can install that with no worries, on top of v 11.

Yes, but I trust Spoon! I'm already using the repaired feature.

I'm just making sure that he knows 11.1 is in beta and not a final release.

                  Re: Ripped File Destination

Speaking of C:\Converted Music, is there a way from preventing that folder from even appearing there in the first place? I never convert to that folder, so I tried deleting it once, but then the next time when I converted a file (to C:\Documents and Settings\Neil the Cellist\Desktop\Neil\Music), C:\Converted Music suddenly appeared there again. Anyway to get rid of it forever? (Hm.....if it can't, this would make a good suggestion/wishlist item for the next dMC :D)

This is the default. If it doesn't exist and you've not specified a location, it will be created. You can specify any location yourself, and it will remain until you change it.

I've noticed that Release 9 tends not to rip to the location that you specify. why is that? because it's older?

I don't recall problems with any versions from 6 to just before 11, and this too has been fixed now. I've always given my own destination to files ripped or converted. I think???
