No, the browser has nothing to do with dBPA when converting files or any other process (except downloading, of course). But the problem you have is connected with the Windows operating system. Did you try clicking in empty space before hovering over the file?

Have you by chance installed any sort of fancy software to turn your mouse pointer into something cute? I can see how this would interfere.

When you want to open a file, do you single-click on it to open it, or double-click? Because if you double-click, you may have to single-click the file first to select it before the pop-up appears.

Which brings the other question. Did you define file opening to work with a single click, or a double click? I have it set as a double-click. That's in Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > General , right at the bottom.

Try single-clicking the file to select it and then hovering over it?

there's only one solution left....

reformat my whole hard drive .....AGAIN

If this happened recently there should be no need to reformat. Just go to an earlier restore point when the feature was working.

Once a 'patriotic usa flag' on the task tray was found to stop popups, do you get popups for other files (ie .bmp - should give the dimensions).
