OMG! Runtime error with Ogg Vorbis (and the CLI encoder)

Hi there! powerAmp is doing fine, but recently the .ogg-codec (converting ogg to mp3) is acting strange - output file is ok, but conversion does not recognize the end of the source file, resulting in a runtime error. It says it's at somewhere about 60-80% done, while the output file ist already almost done, and then - bang

I know, I know, someone already posted that thread, but this is different. I'm having problems with the CLI encoder for Ogg Vorbis. I get this runtime error, similiar to the other thread:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Runtime Error!

    Program: C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\MusicConverter.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I'm learning C++ in school, but I have NO clue how this Runtime error was caused.
Please help, I love the Ogg Vorbis codec and I'm beginning to dislike the mp3 codec, and I love Spoon, the almighty godlike creator of dBpowerAMP! (Hope that helps!   )

WHOA! wait a minute....dMC uses C++??!! If I had access to the code, I could tell what is wrong with the program! Can I see the program code?

Wait.. CLI encoder for Ogg Vorbis? The one for the Pentium 4 only?

Edit: And as for you seeing the code to dbPowerAmp, I think the chance of that happening are somewhere between never and impossible.

yes i did. This problem occured 21 days after I installed dMC.... is that an issue?

Yes I have a pentium 4. I got this new computer for Xmas....here are the specs:

        Dell Dimension 4500
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 1.8 ghz
        52 X CD-RW drive Lite-ON
        48X CD-ROM drive Samsung
        Maxtor 20 GB hard drive

I've never tried or used the Ogg CLI encoder, and I'm not sure very many other people have either. Honestly, I'm not even sure the last time it was updated. You would be better off just using the normal Ogg Vorbis codec until we figure out how old the libraries the CLI encoder is using are.

            there's a newer ogg encoder at http://www.rarewares.org

How do I get that new ogg encoder from RareWares to dMC?

Neil, unless I am very much mistaken (which I often am ) that Ogg encoder version, to which you gave a link, is the same one that Spoon has incorporated into DAC. The CLI version for Pentium 4 is the same version but is supposed to be a little bit faster. I timed it converting the same wave file and saw very little difference in speed.

Check the Beta section of the forums for a beta Ogg Vorbis Codec based on the latest Vorbis and Ogg libraries.
