m4a zero file size, can't play! help!

    Hi,

I am a newbie and hopeless! please help me!

I backed up all my m4a files onto CDs (using itunes burn data cd option, now that was a mistake!) and deleted them from the itunes window.

I can't import the cds staright into itunes because the contentsdb.xml file is corrupt so itunes won't recognise it.

Now i want to play some songs again but i can't!

They are in m4a format and programmes like dbpower amp etc.. tell me that the file is "0 bytes" but if i do right click properties, it is 3mb.

How can i play these songs in itunes again? I have tried converting the files but it won't be converted because they are "0 bytes".

Any help greatly apprecaited. Could i email one m4a file for them to help me?

They will be protected bought from iMS? if so you need to unprotect them, do a search on the forum, there is lots of talk about this.

      Hi,

Thanks for your reply. These aren't purchased songs from ims, just taken from CDs...

        Try playing them through foobar.

          No joy.

I guess itunes must have just corrupted the whole lot of them!

Luckily you didn't purchase these through i-tunes then as you woukd have lost the lot. It does sound as though they are corrupted. Do you want to mail me a file and I will see if I can get it to play?

Click on my name and the options to e-mail me will be available.
