WMP 10 rips don'yt play, WPM 9 do. Which CODEC?

I had Windows Media Player 9 and I was happily ripping my collection and playing it in my car's Pioneer DEH-p77MP player. I then upgraded to Windows Media Player 10 and the rips no longer work in that unit :( (conforimed by Pioneer). I have downloaded dbPowerAmp and have chosen to convert a song, but the only codec options I see when choosing WMA are the 9.1 versions, the ones causing my problem in the first place . Does WMP 10 delete the 9 codes and if so where can I download them from (or get them off a machine with WMP 9)?

    Cheers!

Why don't you pop along to http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-wma.htm and download the version 9 wma codecs. Just make sure that you download and install both files.

So your burning a wma CD for your stereo, or an audio CD?

There are currently two WMA codecs: Version 9 in Codec Central and Version 9.1 in the Beta Section of the forum.

      Edit: Misread your statement.

You might find a system restore is all that you can do to go back to wma v9 (after installing the system codecs for 9.1)

Downloaded those (and the v8) but when I convert the drop down option is "Windows Media Audio V8" or "Windows Media Audio V9". Choosing V9 only then gives the option of version 9.1 codecs not the 9.

I have the exact same problem with my Pioneer Car CD player, and the WMA 9.0 versus WMA 9.1 options in dbpowerAMP.

            What was the solution ?
