ID Tag Question

Hi. I'm using DbPowerAmp Release 10.1 with the Release 3 Power Pack and I've got a question. In the ID tagging section, is it possible to NOT show certain things about the track? I'm not intrested in the Composer and the year and the track number but I notice when I deleted them (or don't fill them in at all) they still remain and it annoys me. Is it possible to get rid of these fields? Thanks so much and sorry if this has been asked before!

I don't know of any way to remove those specific fields, as they are part of the ID3v2 spec. There might be a way to do so, but I don't know of it.

There is a DSP available in PowerPack (at least for the new PowerPack for dMC r11) to remove tag elements. There is also the Update ID Tag utility codec which would allow you to change your tag file type. This is described thusly:

Update ID Tag is used to either change the tag type (for example ID3v2 to ID3v1), or to remove all ID Tags from an audio file.

This might allow you to switch to a different (more editable) tag file type but I could not speak to possible confflicts with different codecs (I don't know whether some require certain formats or not).

The new Release 11 has better ID Tag deleting abilities - should be able to select a bunch of mp3 files - right click >> edit tag - and delete the elements you dont want in one go.
