    Music Collection - Arrange Files

    Hello Spoon et al

I have music displayed in Collection as follows :
icon - artist - album - track no. and name - filename
and all sorted according to filename
    - nice and orderly !

I have tracks arranged on my HD as follows :
    one folder per group/artist;
    then
    1) for each group/artist where I have several albums
    a subfolder per album
    or
    2) for each group/artist where I only have the odd track
no subfolder - just the track(s).

When I click Collection - Arrange files
the program changes this folder structure
    and inserts album subfolders
for each group/artist (type 2 above) where I don't really want them
(probably basing this on its tag information).
Is there a way round this ?

Another problem is that in Edit Tag
some tracks won't let me delete the album name,
though it will let me put a dash.
Is there a way round this too ?

Best wishes from an otherwise - a very satisfied customer - Ray

    >some tracks won't let me delete the album name,

    Try typing 1 space

When you click 'arrange music' you get an option of what you want the arranging to be (such as \[artist] - [track]), it shouldn't create an album folder unless you tell it to.

I can't get the title & name to flip. I have it set on (artist) (Track) and they are listed track and then artist I try to flip them and nothing happens....Bill :vmad:

This function only works if your files have valid ID tags, if not see the tag from filename utility codec.
