    Can't connect to db server

    when I select rip to convert an audio to mp3 I get "UNABLE TO CONNECT TO DB SERVER, CHECK INTERNET CONNECTION". configuration problem most likely. need help.

    hmmmm.... any option to connect to dbserver is usually a manual task not automated. i can't find any option that would cause this.

      Have you checked what appears in the setting for Freedb? Click on teh arrow to the right of the Freedb button in dMC Audio CD Input and select Freedb server.

      My options look like in the picture below and it works fine.

      You may have to play with those options depending on your type of connection.

        You will get this error message if you try to rip and your system is not connected to the internet unless your system is configured to automatically log on to the internet (which most systems are not). You can still rip despite this message but you will either have to fill in the track information manually, enter an option to access the Freedb database later or log onto the internet to access the database defore ripping.
        You can also log onto the internet at a time of your choosing, open Audio CD input and put any number of discs on your drive just to call up the Freedb information. This is automatically stored in a file for later reference so you can rip whenever you feel like it off-line.
