I really appreciate all the help I got on my last question, I've got the .ra files goin smoothly. Anyway, I was wondering how to convert the encrypted .wma files from napster to regular convertable files? I saw a post from a while back about a auxilary input thingummy, but it was a post from like six months ago. Could someone tell me what is the quickest and easiest way to do this? I used this napster card I got to get some songs, but now I can't put em on my mp3 player and it sucks. thanks.

Re: napster conversions
ook. Thanks. For future downloads, does anyone know if there is a site like napster that you can download from that doesn't encrypt the track? Itunes or any of those? Thanks.Comment

Re: napster conversions
Itunes still uses DRM (digital rights management) on their files, but they are in AAC format. One website that doesn't encrypt downloads, as far as I know, is www.allofmp3.com but the legality of this in the US is uncertain. It is legal in Russia, where it is based, but so far there have not been any lawsuits filed regarding songs downloaded from AllofMp3.com. As a side note, they offer files in AAC, mp3, wma, and ogg. Note that their mp3s are not standard and need to be recoded before portable players can recognize them.Comment

Re: napster conversions
http://www.emusic.com/about/index.html is an excellent service. It downloads in MP3 Lame at between 128 and 192 Kbs. Tracks cost 22 to 25 cents each depending on how long you sign on for. Example...$9.95 for 30 days and 40 tracks.Comment
