I am having a problem with my ipod ending files early and I believe it is due to VBR encoding because when I converted the audiobooks I was having this issue with to AAC it fixed itself. I see that I can do the conversion using the dBpowerAMP converter but will I lose anything qualitywise in doing so?
Can I convert mp3s from VBR to CBR without loss of quality?

Re: Can I convert mp3s from VBR to CBR without loss of quality?
You probably will lose some quality but this problem may be insignificant. Try converting one (or a few) such file(s) and compare the results to your source files.
This should tell you whether what loss occurs is noticeable or not. Also confirm whether the cbr files will play in the iPod. If so, you will probably want to do the conversion even if you should elect to hold on to the original vbr mp3 files (since they are their own best copy).
