    Right Click File Association

Hello ....Can someone please help me? Within Windows Explorer none of my right click options are working for dbpoweramp.

I've run the configuration tool but still no luck. I recently installed ACDSee 7 which messed up my file association settings. ACDsee developers have now released a patch but it doesn't undo the damage which has been done. I'm told I need to reset my file associations manually but not sure how. Can someone please explain the procedure. The db right click options do show within explorer but none of them work.

You can try going Start>Control Panel>Folder Options>File Associations to reset you file associations manually. If that does not work, I would recommend uninstalling Music Converter and your codecs and reinstalling them. And if THAT does not work, try uninstalling Music Converter and your codecs, deleting their registry entries (if you are uncertain as to how to do this, do ask for instructions), RE-BOOTING your system, and reinstalling.

        Many thanks for your reply

I've followed your instructions but the right click options still do not work. I now have to uninstall again and delete the registry keys. Sorry to be a pain but could you please let me know which keys I need to delete.

        Thanks again

          Re: Right Click File Association

Access the registry editor through Start>Run and type in regedit
From the file tree on the left, surf to H_KEY_CURRENT_USER and open it,
go to program files, open that,
find the Illustrate folder. Select and delete that folder.
Exit Registry Editor, restart the computer.
          Reinstall your program(s) and codecs.

This procedure will erase ALL entries for ALL dB products (like File Selecter, Auxilary Input, dB Audio Player, Sveta and dB CD Writer as well as dB Music Converter). You can try being more selective but I cannot tell which which registry entries might be specific to your problem (although definitely you would want to erase all of your codecs) nor can I guarantee that there may not be glitches in some of these other programs (Sveta, dAP, dCW and so forth). So that is why I would just remove all of them from the registry. If another user can offer a more precise list of targets you could always try that.

          Best wishes,
