    Equalizer settings?

    Are there others available somewhere?
There is a couple of the ones included that i cant really tell any difference in.
I'm sure there is a difference just my old tune deft ears can't distinguish it
    anymore.

    thanks,

    Re: Equalizer settings?

are you looking for EQ pre sets? there are two EQ sliders that do nothing if you are trying to tweak. but refer to this thread: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=5852
and loo at this post: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showpost...80&postcount=6

and what skin are you using? and your sure you have turned on the power button for the EQ? as the EQ does work. i know when we either get a better functioning EQ or directX plugin for third party software i will be making EQ pre sets myself for different sorts of music.

and what type of music are you wanting the EQ pre set for? any artist in particular? as i can make a pre set for you that might work ok. and you want the 10 band or 20 band?

      Re: Equalizer settings?

Youre about a decade and 2k miles ahead of me with all that "stuff". Have no
      idea what a band does....

Yes, the EQ light is on.
I was wanting to know if there were any more pre-sets available? Several of
the ones i load really make no difference in the sound (far as i can tell) but some
do. The Classical, Concert Hall, Dance and Pop sound exactly alike. The
equalizer line (default skin) does change but guess my hearing is going.
I can hear the difference of the Rock, Super Base and Super Treble tho.

For an example, the winamp pre-set of "Large Hall" sounds great when compared
to the Super Base in the dBplayer.

Of course, i have no idea about whats under the covers and can only go by
      what i'm hearing.

      thanks,

Well you can always play around and make your own settings. Given that they will be tailored to your hearing, your sound system and your taste that may be a better option for you anyway.
And if you do find some nice settings, you could share them with other EQ freaks.
        Best wishes,

            Re: Equalizer settings?

correct me if i am wrong but doesn't winamp allow for directX plugin and the "hall" effect is probably a DSP effect?

well for the default EQ here is a classical that uses a lot of violin work EQ pre set, for the 10 band EQ and one for the 2o band EQ skins.

              Razgo,
I got those two settings and plugged them in. I cannot tell any difference
between them. I'm sure there must be some but i cannot distinguish it.

              thanks,

lol, hmmmm..... well the very fact you said when using the EQ in winamp you can hear differences makes me wonder. the EQ Spoon will be improving on but still there should be noticable differences. i'm not sure why at this point in time.

The Eq in dAP is way better than the one in Winamp, are you sure it is switched on?

i thought it was odd too. as there should be a noticible difference even if you had hearing problems. it was only the fact that if you can hear a difference in another player/EQ then you should also hear the difference in dap/EQ. how about windows media player/EQ?

                        Razgo,
Just found out that WMP had an equalizer.
I do notice a difference there. I did have to play with the ones
                        they had setup tho.

Never knew an equalizer was in WMP. Course, i dont use WMP all that much.
There are better ones to be had.

I better check windows web for other eq's.

                        thanks,

yes WMP has a really cool "lock" for all the sliders but to me WMP EQ works just like dap as far as noticing that the EQ works on both.

how long since you have done a dap re install? i really can't figure out why yours isn't working.

                            Razgo,

Not saying its not working, just saying i cant distinguish a difference in a
                            couple of them.....

My player is release 3 beta 4 and it only been at most a couple weeks since
                            i installed it. I can always do a re-install.

                            Will try it.

                            thanks,

ok now i am confused , you can't distinguish the difference between a couple of what? the sliders? there are 2 sliders that don't work. but the rest are fine.
