    Ogg Vorb VBR?

Sorry im sure this is a very stupid newb question...

but ive encoded all my music into ogg vorb format, it seems sweet as, ive used a nominal bitrate of 192 or so...however recently i read that nowadays its usually measured by a quality standard out of 10...

ie: you just choose 4 or 5, and it encodes....

Err...i was wondering what the deal was? DBpowerAMP doesnt have this quality standard right? Where does a nominal rate of 192 come to?

Have i done it all wrong???!!!

    Argh!

    Help!

well for VBR 192 that would be Q6 setting. not sure if that's what they are talking about. i don't believe anything beyond 192 VBR Q6 is needed. others will disagree though

dBpoweramp translates that q number into the shown value (to me 192Kbps is much better than -q6).

as far as i know it is only with VBR that the "Q" shows. so what you are saying you prefer 192 @CBR or A/V as the "Q" doesn't appear on those screens.? unless you can choose .ogg 192 VBR without the "Q" somehow?
