PowerPack Play Sound After Conversion Problem

I purchased the PowerPack add-on for dBpowerAMP and really like it. However, I cannot get the 'Play Sound After Conversion' function to work. I've tried pointing it at several .wav files and playing with some of the other settings like skipping the encoding results message, but nothing seems to work. I could really use this feature to help me keep the PC fed with CDs when I'm mass ripping.

Everything else seems to work just fine and, yes, all Windows sounds, Media Player, and dBpowerAMP CD playing work as expected.

    Any suggestions?

My system is a 2.2GHz P4 running WinXP Home.

TIA for any assistance you can provide.

The sound to play after the conversion is done is nothing else than your choice of alert, like a TADA! or any sound that would draw your attention to the fact the conversion is done. It doesn't mean to play the converted song back for you.

After selecting that option, you also have to select which particular sound file you want it to play for you.

Upon rereading your post i realize that probably this is what you were trying ormaybe your playback source need to be set to wav after having been set to cd or something else? Because it does work, I've just tried it.

Yes, I'm just trying to playback a .wav file so that I can be notified that the ripping operation is complete. No matter which .wav file I try, and they are all known, working sound files, nothing plays upon completion.

Thanks for trying to help, though.

Look at the playback options in your Volume Control. You have to check WAV, you probably have only CD checked.

The default playback device has to be set in windows, try playing a sound through sound recorder.

I have discovered that the sound will only be heard when the option to skip conversion complete is turned off.

I guess if we think about it these 2 options can be considered mutually exclusive. You either want to be notified when conversion is complete or you don't.
