    Constantly losing context menu item

    I recently installed dBPowerAMP Converter with the wmav9 codec and overall I'm delighted with it. But There's one irritating problem. Every day or so the handy menu item 'Convert with dBPowerAMP' from the r-click menu just vanishes. The only way I've found to get it back into the context menu is to run the setup program dBpowerAMP-codec-wmav9.exe again.

    I've so far not spotted any pattern or cause. Anyone have any
    suggestions please? It's becoming really annoying!

    that is odd, make sure you have:

    start-->programs-->dbpoweramp music converter-->configureation-->dmc configuration

    and make sure there is a tick in the "convert to" on the explorer right click"

      IF a program changes the association of a wma file it will disappear, re-run dMC Configuration to re-add it.

        Thanks both, appreciate those fast replies. Bingo, Spoon! It was plainly because I'd been experimenting with different associations for WMA.

        OT, I know, but I'd be very interested to know what other more experienced users choose for their MP3 and WMA associations please?

        BTW, Razgo, you'll be amused to hear that I spent an hour yesterday writing a macro (with an obsolete prog called Stiletto) to automate re-installation of the converter! Guess I should have browsed the Start menu options a bit more thoroughly <g>.

          lol, well the main thing is the problem was resolved. for file association for WMA, MP3, etc etc... i associate with dbpoweramp. if i want to open a music file up within another player i just "right click open with" and choose another program.
