    player installation?

In the dmc configuration screen it always shows the audio player as not
installed. So i pulled the latest (dMC-r11b5a and dBpowerAMP-r3-beta5),
installed them and the player still shows as not installed.
It works and plays fine from clicking on the shortcut icon and in the folder.

    Is this a normal state?

    thanks,
    savagcl

Did you install them into the default locations? The latest dMC Configuration should list all the dBpowerAMP software (together with version numbers) installed.

Nope, I have all my sound, video, utils on drive D.
      What the config shows is:

      Version Information
dBpowerAMp Music Converter Release 11 Beta 5A
Power Pack & Mp3 License Release 5 [Registered: Yes]
dBpowerAmp Audio Player Not Installed 'Music Player like no other'
      Install [url]http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dbpoweramp.htm

      All the rest is fine.

      thanks for the reply,

        Re: player installation?

In my version of dMC Configuration there is no mention of dAP (dB Audio Player). I am running the r11 beta 3 of dMC and the r3 beta whatever of dAP.
I assume this is actually normal and reflects the much greater degree of independence of dAP from dMC (compared with the CD Writer, File Selector, Auxilary Input, and Sveta).
So my interpretation is that there is no problem although it would be nice if dMC Configuration did have information about dAP.
        Best wishes,

Hmm, for me, when I look at what dMC Configuration says, dAP is listed, but no mention of version or anything else (see pic).

dAP appears as a separate folder in my Start Programs (actually named simply dBpowerAMP) , with its own subfolder called Configuration giving: File Associations; Install options; Keyboard Control

maybe, as i cleaned out my dbpoweramp registry a few times when there was a skin kufuffle not so long ago.

                  Ah-Ha!

I found the problem. Because of multiple install files and i think not using
the default installation folder, i had 2 folders. A sub-folder within the main
dBpowerAMP folder (D:\dBpowerAMP\dBpowerAMP). There was some
small amount of duplication within these two folders. By doing a copy from
the sub-folder to the main folder and keeping the latest file(s) the problem
was corrected. The only file that couldnt be copied was the dbshell.dll but
since it was the same size and date i just deleted one of them (leaving the
                  one in the main folder).
Three other folders, compression, help and multimedia needed to be
combined also using the same method above.

It now shows the installed and version number and everything works too.
                  Amazing!
Oh, I had to re-sync two desktop shortcuts to finish it all off.

It checks for amp.exe in the same folder as music converter.

                        xoas,

I wouldn't go that far at all but thanks for the thought!

For me, its more of a stumbling, fumbling, trial and error but i'll get there (or not).
