    AAC files from iTunes

    Hi,

I am trying to convert downloaded protected AAC files I purchased from iTunes store to MP3 - using db music converter (with AAc codec installed). The app does not seem to see the files so I cannot open them. Anyone have any ideas? (I know about burning to MP3 CD from iTunes but looking for an easier route)

    thanks for any suggestions

Did you install this codec for decoding: http://www.dbpoweramp.net/codecs/dBp...aac-decode.exe ?

In any case chances are that since the files are protected you cannot decode them anyway.

dMC Auxiliary Input can record the audio to wav or mp3 or whatever http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=5362

Maybe not easier nor faster than burning to audio cd and ripping again (if that works), but cheaper

You might try using either Hymn or iOpener (both available from the Hymn website here: http://www.hymn-project.org/ )
Or you could try using iFreesoft (available for download from here: www.iFreesoft.com ).
I have not used any of these products but we have had recommendations for each of these programs from other users.
      Best wishes,

Once you have this on an audio cd there's no more problem, dMC Audio CD Input can rip it and convert to whatever you want.

someone should make a program that integrates all the features of all the anti-copy-protection software out there so one doesn't have to be confused by all the links given by us....

No, someone has to just read the FAQ rather than post for the gazillionth time the same question and the same answers and variations, among all the wrong answers. This is a hopeless thread.

you know, i noticed that a while ago Chrstina. Why do people post threads about stuff that's answered in the FAQ's? Wouldn't it save a lot more web space if people actually looked?

Also, I swear : Today I viewed so many of the same thread. There were 2 nearly-identical "MIDI-TO-*different media format*" thread and so many identicals of this thread that i'm currently posting on.
