.mp3 conversion fails!?

I have just downloaded and started to use dMC (v10 I think).
When I try to convert files to .mp3 (I've tried .WAV and .M4a so far) a 0 kb file is created and I get the following message:

The CODEC required to compress [song name].mp3 could not be opened.

I have however converted successfully from .M4a to .WAV
Any help would be appreciated.

What format are you trying to convert from?

Have you tried converting your file first to wav and then convert the result to mp3? Do you get the same error?

Try different bit rates.

Just to clarify.

I am trying conversion from .wav to .mp3 (Lame).

Certain bitrate and frequencies do not work, as a test try 44.1Khz and 128Kbps.

upgrading to dMC v11 seems to have solved the problem.

I am sorry about the earlier blank post.

I have indeed been successful in converting with 44.1/128 combination. However, have not tried v11 beta. Will check out the same.

thanks ... was having the same problem converting .cda to .mp3

changed to 44100 and it works like a charm
