If the text is too big for the buttons or the dialogs look very strange, then you're probably using Large Fonts, which isn't supported by dMC. Large Fonts makes the test size used on dialogs slightly larger to help people who are visually impaired.
To disable Large Fonts, right-click on the desktop and choose Properties from the popup menu. Next, select the Settings tab. If you see an option to change the font size, set it to 'Small Fonts'. If you don't see it (the dialog varies depending on which Windows build you have), you may have to click on Advanced and set the DPI setting to 96dpi or choose 'Small Fonts' as before (again this option varies depending on your Windows version). You may need to log off or reboot for the changes to take effect.
