WMA to MP3, now MP3 is quiet!

Ok so I've been using the last version (not the newest) of music converter fine, and I had no problems with WMA to MP3...but when I switched to my new computer I downloaded 10.0 and now when I convert WMA to MP3 its VERY quiet, not nearly as loud as the original WMA file, and it appears to be like this for ALL WMA's, not just some...can somebody help?!?!?!

Are you using the same player to play both types of files, wma and mp3? If so, they may have separate volume controls that are set differently.

Or are you using the Powerpack DSP effects? Maybe you're using some effect (like Volume Quieten) that lowers the volume on conversions.

No, I'm not using a power pack...and yes I'm using the same media player for both...I don't understand it, I downloaded all the necessary utilities to read WMAs through Music Converter, and I'm using the Lame driver encluded with the program, so there shouldn't be a problem? If anyone has any other suggestions I would appreciate it!

Are you using any presets in your conversion to mp3? Variable bit rate or average bit rate?

Is this happening on wma files that you are encoding now to mp3 or do even those mp3's encoded previously with your old computer play more quietly than their wma counterparts?

Also have you tried playing both types of files through Windows Media Player rather than DAP?
