    Re-naming question

I have several mp3 files that i want to rename.
When i use the dBConverter, i can change the name ok but the converted
mp3 files are twice the size of the original file.

Is there a way to just rename the files without going through the
conversion process? I just want the song title and nothing else.

    thank you,
    savagcl

Rename the files or rename the tags? Either can be done manually through Windows Explorer or by right-clicking on the file. If you want it to be done automatically, there are programs that do it.

      Re: Re-naming question

The files have the correct names i want to use. I want to remove the Tags
and just have the file names show in the player.

ex: From: The_lion_sleeps_tonight Name of artist
      To: TheLionSleepsTonight

The file, in windows, is (what i want): TheLionSleepsTonight.mp3

      thanks for the feedback,

What is your player? (converting mp3 >> mp3 will loose a little quality each time)

You can use Windows Explorer, highlight all the mp3 files you want to deal with, right click, select Edit Tags and delete all the tags you want to overwrite with the Delete Selected button.

After that use dMC for all these files and instead of an actual conversion, just select Tag from Filename instead of any other file type. You'll have to play with it for a bit to figure out how you want you file name to be applied to the various tag fields.

You're welcome. Glad to hear it all worked.

Incidentally I'd forgotten to say that you may need to download and install the Tag from Filename codec, as well as the Powerpack. Good thing you did that yourself. :p

                Re: Re-naming question

I already have the power pack, and just about everything else here.

Actually, i just had to "edit tag", no need for the second part (yet).
Some of the music had the song title listed under artist so just had to
                cut/paste/delete and its fine now.

                thanks again for the help,
