No codec for MIDI, because MIDI is not really an audio format as such. All you can do is play the .mid file through any player that plays it and capture it to an audio file of your choice (wav, mp3, wma, etc.) using dMC Auxiliary Input.

When you can play an audio file in a player on your pc but you cannot convert it to another format, there are 2 possible explanations and solutions for that: 1) You do not have the proper codecs for the file Using the file extension as a guide, go to Codec Central (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm) and download

The audio quality of the captured audio file is entirely dependent on your sound card and midi soundbanks.

Note that other programs can capture audio to wav from a MIDI file, e.g. What U Hear from Creative Labs. Music recording programs that handle MIDI can do this as well, such as Anvil Studio or Voyetra's Record Producer Deluxe.
