    Coverter problems

Hello comunity i have a problem with my "dBpowerAMP Music Converter":
everytime when i want to youse them (for example to convert wma files to mp3 files) i only can read this damn message:The file 'C:\....Böhse Onkelz-Adios - 01 .wma' is encrypted which dMC is not able to decode.
But long time ago (a few month*gg) there was no problems but then i formate my pc and then i reinstall my converter....and now this.

PS. i have installed the wma v9 codec and the winows media format 9.... .
At last: sorry for my bad english....i hope you can read them*shy*

    Re: Coverter problems

Does this happen only with newly acquired wma files or also with older ones that have already been converted successfully to mp3 before you reinstalled things on your pc?

Because an encrypted wma file cannot be converted by normal means. If you have the license key, you can play it. You can copy it or burn it to CD a limited number of times which the protection mechanism tracks. Making a copy of a copy will not work apparently.

If you have ripped with Windows Media Player, make sure the option (which is on by default) to encryt files is switched off.

          Re: Coverter problems

If you originally ripped these wma files when WMP had the create licence switch on, which causes WMP to create encrypted wma files, unless you secured the licences before reformatting your computer you will be unable to convert them.

Can you play them using WMP? If not, there isn't anything you can do I am afraid.

IMHO, u had encryted your .wma files b4 u format your old windows.
so, u have to ensure u can play those wma files with WMP9 now .
(Of Course, i know u can play them b4 u format ur windows ;p )
