popup info

ok i tried searching the forum and didnt find this...
i just got a new burner (drive) and with it new Roxio 6 software. Now on drag-to-disk the popup info freezes the whole works up. this didnt happen when i was using the roxio 4.something. If i disable it in dMC configuration everything is fine again. i really liked having the popup info when i'm looking through my disks. is there some way i can fix this?

It sounds like some strange incompatibility problem, the problem is probbably in Roxio 6.

Can you explain what you mean by "drag-to-disk"?
I have the Roxio 6 software and have not run across any incompatibility problems to date but I am not sure that I have tried whatever it is you're doing. I would be happy to see if I have the same problem or not (which woould help confirm the possibility of an incompatibility problems).

Mimm-
I can use the Roxio Drag to Disc with no problem. So I don't think that the issue is out and out incompatibility.
Could you please specify what steps you are using when you are trying drag to disk? Also, could you please tell us about your system and resources (what Windows version are you using, processor speed, ram size, available disk space)?

K what i mean is when you stick in a CDRW and you browse it either through start>programs>roxio>roxio easy cd and dvd creator6 > DRAG TO DISK then view dics contents, OR even when you go to the D drive directly and browse the CD... when you scroll over a music file, instead of the pop up info popping up, it hangs. when you go to task manager getinfo or whatever its called is in there and it will stay that way for some time, i cant close the window or anything until it finishes trying to pop up the info, or until it just stops responding all together at which time i have to end task on it.

OK. I had thought the problem was elsewhere.
I have checked and I don't have this problem, although I do note there is a noticeable lag time for popupinfo to appear (which I have also seen in other circumstances). My guess is that rather than being an incompatibility problem that it represents a problem with your computer system being pushed too far, too fast. If that is the case, then I would think that turning off background applications would make the situation better or there may be other ways to increase available system resources (like increasing ram cache) that another user might be able to recommend.
