    Normalizing?

Are there other settings that must have a specific setting for the
    Normalize to work correctly?
Like Bit-Rate = fixed or something else?

I just normalized some music (with variable bit rate and Set Bits = Original)
but some of the songs are still louder than otheres.....

    thank you,

Your problem might have to do with trying to normalize songs relative to each other and/or using simple versus adaptive normalization; I will talk about the latter.

If you are doing a simple normalize, all it does is looking for the maximum value in the audio file and then it multiplies the whole file by a number to bring that max to its maximum allowable value (or the one you specify as a percentage of that) of 32767 or so. This maximum, though, may be inaudible to you, and if it is already at 32767 or whatever number, simple normalize would not produce any changes to the file that you could hear. This might be the case with your songs that sound the same as before.

Instead, you could try using adaptive normalize. Instead of working on the whole file at once, it takes a small window and adjusts volume on that based on your settings, and then moves the window further along and does it again, and so on ("a rolling window"). Obviously this is a very invasive procedure, but you would end up with a file that is audibly different in volume where simple normalize fails.

    Also see here and here

    Cheers
