iTunes, mp4, and mp3

Hey,
I've been looking for a way to convert some of my mp3 music files that I have to the mp4 audio format that is used in iTunes. I want to be able to put these songs in iTunes but it wont let me because of the format. So, are there any codecs that will enable me to convert between the two, because the ones ive tried haven't worked.

To convert from mp3 to mp4 just download the mp4 codec from Popular Codecs or from MP4/3/2 Specific at Codec Central and run dMC.

Be aware your mp4 files will have less quality than mp3s (lossless to lossless).
