DAP Won't Play Some of My MP3s

I have some mp3s that I encoded with dmc and lame 3.92 a while back. Probally not relevant, but I did transfer the files to a bigger hard drive (not sure when they last played from the smaller drive).

I tried DAP r3 beta 5 and also downgraded to DAP r2 and prefer not to go back to r1 which I think was when I last played these files. I can convert the files with dmc from mp3 to mp3 and the converted files play fine, albeit with a little less quality.

Only some - about 1/3 of these older files are not playing with DAP. All the files will play with real alternative and window media player. It's really strange. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you install dmc to the to same location as dap, then dap will use the same decoder - it should play them (the problem might be elsewhere).
