Monkeys Audio Release 7 and 3.97 ape files

installed the latest monkeys audio codec.

when playing back 3.97 compressed files i get a garbled result. the tag info is presented correctly and the elapsed time is correct as well, but the sound is skipping all over the place. help.

    thanks.

i also ripped a new track (dmc r11 and monkeys 3.99) with the same result.

on closer listening it sounds like the track is being played double time?
also, mp3 files at bitrates > 192kbps will not play.
further, when you restart dbpoweramp in the middle of a song, it does not resume but instead finds a new song <= 192 kbps.

    i'm on windows xp.
    dbpoweramp r3 beta4.
    24-bit dsp.
    dmc r11.

going back to uninstall everything in dbpoweramp. i'm not sure that i still have release 6 of monkey's audio. is it still available?

ok, so i uninstalled everything including r6.1 of monkey's audio and now files are playing back ok.

so what does this mean? before updating to monkey's 3.99 i need to convert these 3.97 files?

It is the 24 bit DSP that stops the 'DirectX Output' from working, if you ue this you need to select the output as 'Waveout' (I had the problem the other day...)

ok. new problem. i'm sure it's related. some mp3 files (not dependent on kbps) do not advance when they come to the end of a track. instead the time remaining for the track toggles between 2 different times infinitely.

any idea what's going on here?

Try the new dBpowerAMP Music Converter R11 Beta - it has a fix for this (don't know if it fixes the problem though).

i've got dmc r11b running, but it doesn't solve the problem. seems in some way related to id3v1 tags. but removing them does not solve the problem in all cases. for now i've stopped running the 24-bit dsp, although i'd like very much to be able to do so. i also tried setting utf8 read to 'no' in the dmc configuration, that seemed like it might be something to try?

I updated dMC R11 to beta 4 about 3-4 days ago - the fix was only in this version.

Do you have an mp3 file that causes this all the time? if so please email to me (email address on the front page of dbpoweramp.com).
