Help! VBR MP3 Files Recognised As MP3Pro

I never had this problem until I dowloaded v10 yesterday and also installed the latest Lame codec, 3.97...

When I now hover over some of my MP3 files, the pop-up states that they are MP3Pro files - not MP3s!

I have a folder on my PC specifically for files I want to play on my MP3 player - they are all really small files. I use the following dMC settings:

    Professional Frequency Conversion - On
    Encoding - Very High
    Min Bit Rate - 32kbps
    Max Bit Rate - 128kbps
    Channels - Joint Stereo
    Frequency - 44,100Hz

I can usually get 50 tracks on one 3" cd using these settings. I also trim silent frames from the intro and end of albums.

I do think that the problem is something to do with PowerAmp. Its not just flagging the files I encoded yesterday as MP3Pro, but all the older ones too!

    Help!

I wouldn't worry too much, it just guesses the encoder.

Oh well - I guess you're right. So long as the files sound great, I suppose it doesn't matter!

      Thanks for replying!
